Trailer Thoughts: Fright Night

Today we have the first trailer for the new remake of the 1985 vampire film Fright Night.

I never seen the original Fright Night, but from what I gather, this will be a much more darker film.  Colin Farrell takes over the role, played by Chris Sarandon in the original, of a vampire who moves next door to a teenage boy (played by Anton Yelchin) and his family.

I do have to say that Colin Farrell does come off as quite sinister in his vampire role and I am sure that he will likely be one of the best aspects of the film.  One thing that this trailer is missing is a good look of Doctor Who's David Tennant as the character of Peter Vincent, who was played by Roddy McDowall in the original.

Overall the film looks like it has promise and I will probably check it out when it opens in August.
