Sean Kelly

My Thoughts on Catfish

If nothing else, this is a film that would generate discussion.

After seeing this film today, I was reading many posts on the internet arguing whether or not this was truly a documentary or a fictional film disguised as one (though when you think about it, ALL documentaries are staged in one way or another).  In my opinion, I think that this was a true documentary, even though it was sort of advertised as being something that it's not.

Either way, the film can be seen as a pretty good cautionary tale about using social networks to connect to people that you do not know.  Definitely very thought-provoking.

About Sean Kelly -

Sean Patrick Kelly is a self-described ├╝ber-geek, who has been an avid film lover for all his life. He graduated from York University in 2010 with an honours B.A. in Cinema and Media Studies and he likes to believe he knows what he’s talking about when he writes about film (despite occasionally going on pointless rants).
