My Thoughts on Rob Zombie's Halloween II

As you may remember, I quickly fell out of favour with Rob Zombie's original remake of Halloween when he seemed intent having the focus more on Michael Myers than Laurie Strode.

Thankfully that is remedied in this sequel, which also features an original story instead of the film being a remake of the original Halloween II (though the opening of the film is clearly influenced by that film).

The returned focus of Laurie really helps you have some sort of care for the would-be victims of Myers (instead of the last film, where characters are introduced only to be instantly offed).

The only major beef I have with this film are the ghostly visions Michael Myers has of his mother, though I was eventually able to excuse that weirdness.

While, I still prefer the original, at least this film turned out to be a decent Halloween film.

My Experience at Fan Expo

Yesterday I went to Fan Expo Canada for the first time and it was a great experience.

I always wanted to attend a convention like this, but I was always reluctant to pay the high ticket price. I finally caved this year and I am glad that I did.

The highlight for me was meeting James Duval, who played Frank the Rabbit in Donnie Darko. He was the only celebrity I met, but it was neat seeing the other celebrities in attendance, including Bruce Campbell and Leonard Nimoy.

I do say that going to the convention was a very fun experience for me and I will make sure to return to the expo next year.
