Even though the estimates suggested Up was on top, the final numbers provided a different story as it is The Hangover that ended up being the true box office winner with a gross of $45M, compared to Up's $44.1M.
Land of the Lost also made a little more than expected with a gross of $18.8.

Box Office Thoughts - Update
DVD Picks - June 9, 2009
This week my main DVD Pick is the release of Gran Torino (also on Blu-Ray). I thought that while it it was fun seeing Clint Eastwood return to his grumpy persona, the film also had a message.
Also out this week The International (also on Blu-Ray). I thought that other than a spectacular shoot-out sequence, this entire film was just so-so (might be worth a rent though).
Rounding out the new releases is the cheerleading "comedy" Fired Up (also on Blu-Ray).
Notable Blu-Ray releases this week include Predator 2, Fatal Attraction, The Siege, and Indecent Proposal.
