I noticed a lot of “Top Ten Films of the Decade” lists popping up, so I thought from now until I take a break from posting for the holidays I will post one film a day.
So, at number ten I have Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge! The film was a “jukebox musical” in its use of many pop songs in telling of a tragic romance. The film follows Luhrmann’s style of starting off over-the-top and comedic before moving in a more tragic and dramatic direction as the film progresses.
It was definitely one of the most spectacular films of the decade and it’s worth seeing at least once.
